It has a 2.3 litre from Typ 44 fitted with a carburettor from Zastava 101 - just one of many sad stories about big old cars.
300 € isn't a lot of money in Deutschland, but here it's the average salary. So for me as a college student to give that kind of money for something I don't really need... hardly.
I will try to buy the body if it comes to the point where it would be schrotted, if I manage to get a fair price. It would really be a waste to see such a rare car destroyed.

Glad you like my pictures
Marc, invitation to our annual oldtimer meet (last weekend in August) always stands.
I didn't come across any interesting old cars for a while, so here are some Typ 43's currently in classifieds:
Belgrade car, asking price is 600 euro:
Aleksandrovac, 1300 euro:
Also, after nearly two years of searching I finally found my first car ever - Moskvič
I got one for my first birthay, it was dark red and produced in 1988 (which can be determined from the licence plate). I don't know if these were popular in Western Europe, but here for many many years it was THE toy. It was made in Soviet Union and modeled after Moskvic 408. It's extremely well made and durable, for example it has double ball bearings in the front and independent suspension in the rear. Headlights were powered by one 4.5 V battery.
This one will most definetly be restored in shortest timeframe, and I'll inform you on the progress.

Edit: One of my first cars was a small white Moskvič station wagon. I got it as a russian model car when I was about 12 or so. It was rather large and different compared to all those tiny Matchbox and Siku toy model cars, so I rather enjoyed it. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Moskovich-estate ... 2ea7a05513
Unfortunately the small tiny black/white tires were giving off a warm and friendly petro chemical stench for about a month or two. So it had to sit ouside the window until it became house trained, eventually
